November Mass Times

The Feast of All Saints is Monday, November 1st. It is not a holy day of obligation this year because it falls on Monday. The Mass times offered will be: 8:30 AM (English) and 7:00 PM (bilingual) at Precious Blood Catholic Church. There will be a Mass offered at Epiphany Catholic School at 1:30 PM.

The Feast of All Souls' Day is Tuesday, November 2nd. Join us for Mass at 8:30 AM at Precious Blood Catholic Church. All Souls Day is the day the Church commemorates the souls of the faithful departed. On All Souls Day, we apply our efforts, through prayer, almsgiving, and the Mass, to their release from Purgatory. There are two plenary indulgences attached to All Souls Day, one for visiting a church and another for visiting a cemetery, although only one indulgence is granted a day. Since a plenary indulgence removes all of the temporal punishment due to sin, we can apply one of the plenary indulgences to a Holy Soul in Purgatory for their spiritual good.

To acquire a plenary indulgence, by visiting a church on All Souls Day, it is necessary also to fulfill the following three conditions: sacramental Confession, Eucharistic Communion, and prayer for the intention of the Holy Father. The three conditions may be fulfilled several days before or after the visit; it is, however, fitting that Communion be received and the prayer for the intentions of the Holy Father be said on the same day as the visit. The condition of praying for the intentions of the Holy Father is fully satisfied by reciting one Our Father and one Hail Mary. The second plenary indulgence for a soul in purgatory can be acquired by visiting a cemetery and praying for them within the first eight days of November. A plenary indulgence can be acquired only once in the course of the day.
